The more you use this video with your dog and the more it will help them master speaking. They will pay attention to what you say!
Hans Pastusz Rohen, an animal behaviorist and award-winning animal behaviorist, has created the Talking Dog video. He is an expert in understanding the psychology of dogs and how they apply complex math to solve problems. His discoveries have earned him numerous awards including the 1999 Breakthrough Award by the American Psychological Association (London, England) and the Royal Society of Medicine (London, England).
The book by Von Osten The Talking Dog reveals a strange anomaly in which dogs can understand the meaning behind words even in the absence of hearing them before. He states that his discovery of the phenomenon is due to the fact that dogs make use of the same type of brain processing that humans do when processing verbal information. He discovered that dogs make use of an illusion known as the stumpfog, which is an abbreviation for what’s known as the “illusory hearing system”. This is what allows a person to understand speech even if they have never heard it before.
Von Osten, in The Talking Dog that dogs have the same brain-computer system as humans do to process spoken words. The key is in their ability to connect certain sound-items (like the clicks and snaps in the speech) with a visual image. In essence, dogs make the same kind of connections as people in attempting to understand the meaning of the visual information they’re getting.
Von osten recorded a variety of dog sounds and asked owners to watch a clip of the same things being spoken by a person to verify this. The owners were asked to rate how accurately they understood the meaning of the video. These results were amazing The more effort the dog owner put into hearing the sound, the better they thought the speaker was. It seems that dogs process sound and video in much the same way. The dogs were also able recall the names of the speakers they heard.
In addition to talking dogs, von Osten also has written books on the topic. The book What Every Dog Owner Needs to Know contains information about the research on talking dogs as well as explanations of the theory. The theory is explained in depth and the number of slips and buttons used are explained in the book. Although the concept isn’t completely new, it’s still a mystery to dog owners. Many of the details are new to me. I have discovered that other researchers have replicated similar results, however I am not an expert in this field and cannot confirm its validity.
The book isn’t an exact replica of the Talking Dog phenomenon. However, I found it to be a fascinating read and recommend it highly. I am not a scientist, and therefore I cannot verify the accuracy of any assertions made in the book. I am, however, an avid fan of the concept and am certain that other dog lovers will see this as a fantastic way to gain knowledge about the behavior of their pet. Much as the clever Hans canaries who wag during an interview, my dog is able to communicate with anyone, at any time, by saying whatever comes to the mind. It is truly amazing and I’m looking forward to more books from this author maybe in the style of his “Dog Whisperer” series.
